MissionAero Pipeline Overview
The MissionAero Pipeline is a multi-year training program which uses aviation to professionalize youth for post-secondary career paths, with a specialized emphasis on missionary aviation.
Missionary aviation uses aircraft to directly support church planting and humanitarian efforts. MissionAero plans to increase both high school graduation and post-secondary enrollment rates while building the 21st century skills and networks students will need to thrive.
Students will be held to a high standard and professionalism will be embedded into every assignment. Positive interpersonal relationships and the ability to conduct one’s self are of the utmost importance. It will transform lives, inspire careers and set students on a path of learning in an industry with increasing demand.
Through technical and non-technical training, MissionAero’s unique Aerospace, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (AeroSTEM) pipeline will prepare students for a variety of post-secondary careers in the aerospace industry.
The unique curriculum will help students develop their “whole person” concept. Through community partnerships students will meet industry professionals. During summer programs, students will receive flight training and even earn a pilot license through these partnering organizations.
Pipeline Execution
5th to 8th Grade
Through MissionAero’s strategic partnership with STARBASE, 5th graders receive 25 hours of STEM training during their 5th grade academic year at STARBASE’s Gary, Indiana facility.
9th-12th Grade
MissionAero’s senior-high curriculum is taught during a 35-week, in-class program. Students will attend one 1.5-hour session per week for 17 weeks in the fall, and 18 weeks in the spring. Annually, students receive over 50 hours of instruction across four emphasis areas.
Graduates
Through MissionAero’s strategic partnership with Wings As Eagles Mission Air Service (WAE), any young men desiring to become missionary aviators will receive reduced cost flight training at WAE facilities in Oshkosh, WI, during the summers between college.
WAE also offers young men, 14 and older, the opportunity to attend WAE flight camps during the summer.

Students will be introduced to life on the mission field, specific missionary aviation requirements and missionary aviation specific careers.
Additional Opportunities
Special Speakers
MissionAero students will hear from industry professionals who will discuss their industry roles, answer industry questions and inspire industry involvement. The speakers’ unique skills and experiences will inspire and inform students.
Industry Exposure
MissionAero students will conduct aviation-related activities including taking field trips to local airports, and other sites, to see the breadth of the aviation industry and assist with determining their career interests.
Community Services
MissionAero students in 9th-12th grade are required to complete 30 hours of community service per semester.
Events
MissionAero students will participate in several events, some of which may include program completion ceremonies and family involvement events.
